The Prodigy, Metallica and Black Sabbath to headline Download 2012
As you know, here at MFRS HQ, we report on the best music only from the UK, but we thought that because Download festival is celebrating it’s 10th year we’d include news on the UK’s biggest rock and metal festival (that includes artists from across the globe). Once again Download will be returning to Donington Park between 8th-10th June 2012.
The festival announced Metallica earlier this month, who’ll be headlining on Saturday night, with a special performance of The Black Album which they’ll be showcasing in it’s entirety. It’s also been confirmed that legends Black Sabbath will be taking the 2nd headliner spot for Sunday night at the festival. Recently The Prodigy have been announced as taking the last headliner spot for Friday night.
More bands will be announced in the coming weeks and months, we suggest to keep checking their official Facebook and Twitter accounts to hear about new additions to the line up.
Weekend tickets go on general sale from 9am Friday 18th November 2011 (at the same prices for Download 2011) until midday Monday 30th January 2012. All ticket types will then go back on sale at 5pm Monday 30th January where weekend tickets will have increased to 2012 prices.
If you are lucky enough to be a Vodafone customer you can purchase tickets 48 hours before they go on presale. These tickets will go on sale from 9am Wednesday November 16th 2011. Visit here to find out more.
